Hi ladies

I'm looking for a caterer.  I did get one quote however I would like to shop around before making a decision.  The one thing that I do like about the caterer that I have contacted is that she is a one stop stop.  I would be able to get my linens, cake, chavari chairs with red sashes and cocktail tables from her.  I know a lot of my budget will go towards the food.  Thanks in advance for your help.

SoontobeMrs.Dancy, are you still looking for a caterer?

My FI and I met with a caterer yesterday, we had a tasting, got a quote, and are completely sold. The food and the price were so great, we put a deposit down already!

When I met the regional catering director of The Black-Eyed Pea at the Bridal Symposium, to be completely honest, I dismissed the idea immediately. I didn't think there would be any way that we would be able to afford for them to cater. (And I hadnt been to a BEP since high school and didnt remember the food being that good) After she sent me an initial quote, put together from the little info that I'd given her at the Symposium, I decided to give it a shot.

Our Grand Total for 400 guests (Buffet Style) is $4,268.53

This includes a mix of 2 entres Grilled Chicken Breast and Pot Roast; a mix of 3 sides (2 per guest) Broccoli Rice Casserole, Mashed Potatoes, and Green Beans; equipment for 2 buffet lines; set-up and pick-up service; 425 cloth napkins (folded); 400 sets of plasticware (Clear Plates, utensils, cups, and cake plates w/forks); 40 Gallons of Iced Tea; TAX & 15% GRATUITY.

We went with a very casual menu because we want to make sure that our guests enjoy everything. My FI was soooo glad he tagged along for the tasting! We cheaped out on some things (i.e.-China, appetizers, salad), but they offer all of these things plus full service catering if you want them to. I'm providing the linens, but they do offer to bring their own.

I definitely recommend them to all of you fellow Texas brides (they have locations in Colorado and Tennessee too). The regional catering director here in Houston is Christy Little. Here is her info: bepcatering@earthlink.net, 713-304-2283. She'll be on vacation for about a week, but should be back on July 13.

Also, here is the link to the website so ya'll can check out the menu and hopefully find a location close by! http://www.theblackeyedpea.com/catering_texas.htm

Sorry for the long post!
