Hi ladies,

Question about ceremony music...how important is it really? We're having an outdoor ceremony that will probably last 20 minutes at most. Rather than hiring a musician, I am thinking of having our DJ set up his speakers and play a few songs as we walk down the aisle. Would this look bad? Do guests really notice the musicians anyway?

Thanks!

My venue comes with speaker systems for musicians if we want, otherwise they'll play whatever music we want. I was never dead-set on having musicians, and we, too, are having a pretty quick outdoor ceremony. Plus we have kind of a small area to work with for the ceremony. I've personally only been to one or two weddings where they had musicians, so I never thought it was weird to have a DJ play some songs. Do what's best for you! They better be paying more attention to you and your groom than whether you have musicians or not, anyway! =)

I thought about that too bc I am also having an outdoor wedding.  But I really wanted something more sentimental and you cant beat the sound of live strings.  I was able to find 2 players who were very reasonable.  I have the song list on my bio.  Dont know what your budget is but you you want recommendations for some string players I can forward to you.  Just message me.

It really sets a nice ambience and live music is always better than a DJ. Check out my fiance: Guitar Fred (http://www.guitarfred.com).
