Ceremony music?

So I have a DJ for the reception but I realized I didn't have anything for the ceremony itself.  This is the budget savvy group and I was wondering...do you think it would be tacky to have the ceremony music played from an Ipod?  I was also thinking if I did go this route then the "timing" of everything would have to be almost perfect.

I need some advice!

Not tacky at all.  Just be sure that they person monitoring the IPod knows how to use one.

I am thinking about doing that or having the DJ play the music.

I have my whole wedding played from an Ipod, and it not TACKY AT ALL.....and no regrests!!!!!

two things you need to have...the right music selection and the person dedicated to play with it.

I never recommend using any ipods at any weddings because there is always the possibility they could fail. I believe the best way is to have the DJ do it for you or if you want to save some money use a computer over a ipod. There are a some times that it has worked to use ipods but I wouldnt trust it to be safe.

If you do use the ipod I agree with the idea of having someone who has one and knows how to use it for sure. Make a playlist with all the songs you want to use in order. Explaining the music order to the person doing it because people seems to often get confused. This is your ceremony and its such an important day so make sure you have someone you trust to do this and have them test it long before the wedding.

It would look tacky to me and my friends to see someone use a ipod for a ceremony however we are all DJs and sound techs. lol I'm sure most people would never notice unless someone messes up, then everyone will know! I dont want that to happen to anyone!

Hope you have a great wedding!

I am considering a DJ or  Ipod for my ceremony music as well.

if you go to a church you could have someone sing at your wedding that you really like at church, or play if they play at church.  if there is a college in your city, many have music programs and you could have someone sing or play that attends the college that is studying music.  they tend to be less expensive, but still sound great.  even outdoor weddings can have piano via electric full size pianos (not all electric keyboards have all the keys)
