We got our tentative schedules for the upcoming year in June and they had me teaching 3 math classes that I didn't teach last year (ugh what a pain in the butt!) but nothing has been finalized yet and I'm really hoping that i don't show up for teacher meetings on the 1st to find out everything has changed again.  I have a friend who taught 5th grade last year and got a letter yesterday saying she's teaching a new grade for the upcoming school year....anyone else in that boat?

I'm not personally, but they have been making LOTS of changes in our school over the past couple of years. Lots of elementary teachers are retiring in our district, so they are trying to fill all the spots with current employees before finding others.

I'll start teaching at a new school in September and even though they promised me they would be able to tell me my schedule by the end of June they didn't tell me anything except that I would teach 1 English class (5th graders) - that's it... the worst thing is that the books they use are different from the ones we used at my old school... so basically I can prepare everything from grade 5 - 12 :-) ... for English AND Spanish :-(
