I think it's really pretty! I love the modern take on the cheong sam with the trumpet fitting.

I don't know what your original dress looks like - but maybe you could wear it for an hour or so? It's really comfy...I was SO relieved to change out of my wedding dress!

My dress is so comfy but its a corset and I know if I get out of it I will not want to get back into it.

Um...then I DEFINITELY recommend changing into the cheongsam!

Your dress is lovely - but you're guaranteed to get annoyed with it half way through your reception (your dress loosens as you wear it, so you'll have to have someone fix your corset at least 2 to 3 times throughout the day). I know I was SO relieved to wear my last two dresses during the day!

I am planning on wearing a Chinese dress for my tea ceremony, then change into my wedding dress, then change into another Chinese dress for the reception... and then I thought I would just change into a pretty evening gown later on in the night just for fun. So it's up to you... but giving a nod to your mom's heritage is something special that she would appreciate.

I agree Wearing a photo 2626425-1I agree.  Wearing a cheongsam was actually very comfy!  I wore mine during the tea ceremony and changed out to my wedding gown for the ceremony and most of the reception and for the cake cutting and bouquet toss I changed back into my cheongsam :)
