Are you planning on taking any?  If you have taken a class, what kind did you take and did you think it's worth it?  When should we start taking classes?

I'm trying to research classes and it seems that the price/length of class varies widely.  I'm considering taking a weekend intensive for $300 but I'm not sure if I should go for those 10 or 12 week classes instead.  I'm currently 24 weeks but want to sign up in advance since it seems like classes fill up.  Is 28 weeks too early to start?  I dont want to start too early but I also don't know if we would need time to practice anything that we've learned. Any input would be greatly appreciated.  Thanks!

I don't think you can go too early, especially if you book the 12 week classes - especially if you start them at 28 weeks!

I didn't do classes because there weren't any in my area that were geared towards twins, but my friend did one and loved it. She is still really close with quite a few of the ladies from her class 4 years later too

We took bradley method classes with my first and I loved them. It's a 12 week course though and so we all started it right around the beginning of our third trimesters. We also learned lots of positioning stuff that was helpful to be doing throughout your third trimester so I would sign up now!

After some research, looks like I won't be able to take any Bradley classes.  The few classes that are available are either held at inconvenient times or start too late for me to complete before due date.  Which is sad but I'm fine with it.  DH and I are reading the Husband Coached Childbirth and Natural Childbirth the Bradley way.  I'm also looking into hiring a doula from the website, so hopefully I can take as much as I can get.

If I don't do a 12-week Bradley class and instead take a generic childbirth class, is 28 weeks too early to do it?  When should I start taking the newborn cpr, newborn care and breastfeeding classes?

We started taking hypnobirthing which we loved loved loved. But bedrest in the middle of the session prevented us from continuing (it was all the way in Nyack). So I continued studying it at home on my own. I would take any nd all you can afford and re interested in. We took infant care, first aid and were going to take happiest baby but we just rented the DVD instead. And I think 28 weeks is the right time to start with a generic birthing class. I'd double check with the people enrolling bc they'd be able to tell u for sure.

We signed up with Tribeca Parenting for childbirth preparation classes.  Did you take the other classes (infant care and first aid) at SLR?  At TP, infant CPR classes costs $85 per person, which I thought was a bit much.

Yikes that is a lot. Perhaps u can rent some DVDs ? A lot of it is instinctual but it was helpful to us. We took our classes at our hospital in Ridgewood nj (Valley).
