hi ladies! as you all know, my FI & i are having our legal ceremony this friday to ensure we have all our paperwork in order for our upcoming Aug 31 wedding in Manila.

we are really looking at this as more of a formality than anything, but our families (parents, siblings) will be there with us to witness our "first step" towards marriage. we aren't planning to exchange rings as we'd like to save that for our big church wedding, although my mom is planning to make a little bouquet for me.

is there anything i should prepare, think of, consider before friday??

i haven't attended any civil ceremonies before. i'm assuming they'll go through the rites as i normally hear officiants do? kiss the bride, etc? if we weren't already dragging our entire family overseas i'd have asked to go to vegas so we could have been married by Elvis. lol.

Bring a camera and don't forget to check & double check your names. Make sure they are spell correctly on the marriage license. Oh yeah...and tissues...

if you're not having pro pics... maybe make a list of what pics you'd like for your fam to take? you, FH, pic together at a distance with officiant, marriage certificate/license, etc etc.

Even though its only the "legal part" youre getting married!!!! I agree with pp, take pics, you'll want them for sure. :) Maybe do something relaxing and special just the two of you, like in the morning take a walk together, have a cup of coffee. Wite each other a nice note. Just be. That day is going to be special in itself so just relax and enjoy the moment :)

if you girls remember my previous posts, i'm nervous about our families getting together (drama filled year, long story short). so let's all cross our fingers and toes that the day just goes smoothly for us, and i'll be more than thrilled! :)

kohler- i'm calling it "the day i become legally entitled to half your stuff." haha! and did i mention my bachelorette party is next weekend, after we get 'married' ? lol.
