Has anyone done it or is considering it? 

We are considering it! DH is much more skeptical than me :-) I think if we end up going that route, it will be some sort of combination of cloth and disposable. For instance, cloth at home and disposables when we go out or when someone babysits, etc. I love the idea for environmental and pocketbook reasons, though :-) 

we're doing the same thing, just to ease our way into.  So I registered for both cloth and disposables.  I've been lurking on the BC cloth diapering board and now I'm obsessed and determined to make this work! 

I really, REALLY wanted to, but with there being two, me starting a new job, and DH working from home I just don't see it happening.  I was planning to do some osocozy indian prefolds and either thirsties or wool covers, along with a few of the AIOs.  We wouldn't have done them either way until at least 10 lbs, but I just don't see how it will work at this point PLUS we'd need SO many.  If we buy a ton for two now and don't have any more kids, it probably won't be very cost effective (even if I can do resale on some).  Sadly, there is a diaper service in the area we are moving to, but the are not currently accepting new customers so that's not an option either.  Maybe we will get lucky and that ill change by the time we need it though!

We are going to try cloth diapers. I was going to purchase various kinds but then saw in a youtube video that you can rent multiple kinds for a small fee to see which ones you like before purchasing. 

I was only able to get get DH to agree if we used the flush-able liners. I don't think we'll use the liners the whole time were CDing, just long enough to get comfortable with it. 

We cloth diaper Megan :) My DH wasn't really into it when I first brought it up to him but he's totally fine with it now (she's 6 months old.) We cloth diaper at home, and use disposables when we go out for more than a couple of hours. We use Bum Genius one size, and I totally recommend buying only a couple of a few different brands before committing to buying a lot. I didn't, and bought a LOT of 3 different kinds -she was fine with them all when she was little (we started her in cloth at about 4 weeks old when her thighs got chubby enough to fill out the leg holes) but then they started leaking out 2 of the kinds pretty badly so now she's only in the Bum Genius. If anyone has any questions, feel free to ask :)

So I was doing some youtube research on cloth diapers last night & I always knew there was more work involved, but other than that, it sounded wonderful & so great for the baby. However, after watching a few videos, I am not sure I will have the patience... Here is why: One video I watched, it was all about washing the cloth diapers. You would think its as simple as spraying them off & tossing them in the laundry... NO. The one girl I watched, did 3 separate rinse cycles, and then a full 'heavy soil' cycle, and then hung dry half of them & tumbled-dryed the other half of diapers. As of right now, I will be trying out The Honest Company (https://www.honest.com/) disposable diapers. My group of friends swear by them, so I will be trying those out initially.

@cheekymar, you are so right. Cloth diapering is def not a convenient route for many.  But there are other benefits such as less diaper rash, less waste in the landfills, etc.  I will not say that it's a cheaper option though.  Buying cloth diapers can be as addictive as buying shoes and there is the water/electricity costs. 

I started my stash already with some flats and fitteds from Green Mountain Diapers and Nicki's Imaginge Diapers.  I'm afraid to buy covers and pockets though since the real challenge is find one that fits LO. 

Well, I guess I may be back on the CD bandwagon now.  Amazon Moms has a 20% sale going on now and some of the brands are included soI am thinking I may order one of each to test them out.  I sold a bunch of old books back and have a crazy credit to use anyway:) 

We used cloth diapers for my son, who is now almost 4. We used cloth as soon as he got home. Gage was a preemie and they sent home almost 2 packs of preemie sposies. After seeing that we had gone through those diapers in just 2 days, I knew we made the right decision.

We saved so much money!

It was easy. I worked outside the home. I washed diapers every 2-3 days. We didn't use a diaper sprayer (I bought one, but never used it). Wash cycle was rinse on cold (to get all the yuckies out), hot wash with detergent, follow with a cold rinse (to make sure there in no soap left).
