Coloured shoes

I know that the usual is to wear a shoe that matches your dress in colour and style etc, but recently people are coming away from that a little and wearing sparkly / blinging shoes and I really like the look.  I want to go a little further by colour blocking my shoes, which basically means wearing a bold colour in contrast to my dress, possibly matching the colour that my bridesmaids are wearing, so burnt orange to be exact.

What are your thoughts?

I know I am not the first to do this so if there are some new wives out there that did this please let me know your thoughts and also how it was received by others.

Hi Ebony, your right - in most countries it's usual to wear white shoes or shoes matching the bridal dress. Also in Germany where I come from. But I was inspired by all the Ladies here and I dared me to wear colored shoes. I'm so happy that I did because all of our guest were so surprised because they have never been before to a wedding were the bride wore colored shoes :)

As you take a stroll through PW, you will find that many of our brides are wearing colored shoes! I love the pop of unexpected color! Here is a picture of PW's bride of the week, pavez19 "Pascale" wearing red shoes that matched her bouquet perfectly!

I did this. The color scheme for my wedding was black, white and red. I purchased dyeable shoes and had them dyed the right red. For the reception I got custom Converses in red and white. All of my guests loved it. Here are some pics.
