Ug....last night was the worst.  It was Friday, I was feeling fine (my mother-in-law is in town), so we were hanging out, watching tv, and relaxing.  I went to bed around 11:00.  I had a hard time falling asleep and around 12:00 I got these really bad lower pelvic cramps (contraction-like in their waves/intensity)...enough to cause me to moan, make me cry, and wake my husband.

They came in about 3 strong waves (with slight breaks in-between), and I was really scared I was having an ectopic pregnancy or a miscarriage because it was so painful.  It also felt like I had to go (sick) #2, and I tried to go but nothing came out.  However, the strange thing was I had no bleeding.

I was pissed about the possibility of going to the ER, but given the pain I was feeling, I decided to go to rule out anything life-threatening just in case.  I don't mess with medical stuff.

We got there, they did bloodwork and an ultrasound and looked at my cervix.  The pain was down to more of a discomfort, and lower back pain.

No vaginal bleeding (and still none this morning) and they said that my cervix was still closed.  The ultrasound revealed a mass that was consistent with 5 weeks pregnant as was my blood-work, but they also said that the pain I felt was not normal, and I needed to go back to my OB on Monday to have my levels checked again.

The doctor said that my symptoms are "probable for a miscarriage".  It sucks really bad, and now I'm playing the waiting game.

Has this happened to anyone else before?  I would be curious to see....  Any advice, stories or support would be greatly appreciated.

Fingers crossed that everything is ok!  I have had bad cramps at night too but not to the amount of pain that would make me cry. Then again, every body reacts differently to pregnancy.  Hoping that the OB has good news for you on Monday.  How do you feel now?

Thank you :)  I feel really tired today (obviously...at the ER from 1-3:30 am!), and I still have cramps, like my period is just about to start, but they aren't doubling me over.  More similar to the cramps I've had all along, with sime twinges here and there.  I'm taking it easy and we cancelled our weekend plans.

We will see.  The good news is, I still haven't had any bleeding.

Not bleeding is very good sign but I would still be cautious since you are only five weeks.  Definitely take it easy and keep us posted.  Praying your bean stays put!

Oh hon, I'm so sorry you're going through this stressing time :(. But as DMN said, no bleeding is a good sign :). You better rest for a couple of days and take it easy. Hope this little bean sticks where she is. Hugs & prayers your way...

(((Big Hugs)))

Keep us posted on Monday! Sending thoughts and prayers your way! Is 5 weeks accurate?

Oh no! I think it is good that you are not bleeding, maybe you had a corpus luteum cyst and it ruptured. I have herd its very painful and very common in the first trimester. I'd ask your doc if that could have been an option? Hope everything goes well today!!

HUGS!
