Im looking around and just with any other major baby purchase, there are a ton of options!

Im looking at the ones that are infant/toddler beds so we get a little more use out of it, but still haven't decided on one. I'd like to get organic, but they are just too expensive.

Which have you bought and why?

I had this dilemma too awhile back so I polled my mommy friends.  Most said there isn't much of a difference between the mid to high range mattresses.  All said foam over spring and to make sure to get a really firm one.   So we chose this one:

I wanted organic but decided against it since we will have a mattress pad, a sheet (and then repeat) in between it and our son.  I got organic sheets for him though so I feel better about that.

We are going to BRU on MOnday though, I want to check out their mattresses before we pull the plug.

Oh thanks T! I was curious about the foam v. spring mattresses and was actually looking at a few on the BRU site tonight that have coils, so Im glad to know its better to get foam. I wonder why is it better, because they're lighter? I've read to make sure that no matter what type you get that they should be firm to avoid sagging in the middle.  These are a couple I was looking at on the BRU site:

Yeah, Im going to do the same thing pad, sheet, repeat - I noted that from Alex on a post and thought, that is ingenious! Im getting organic sheets too.

Let me know how your BRU trip goes!

I just bought an anfordable one with the best reviews from BRU!  Once you see and feel them they were all the same to me though lol

I just got back from BRU and I have to say, I was unimpressed by the stock at my BRU.  They only had like 4-5 choices and HMM is right, they are all the same really!

I still dont know which one to get.  I might just stick with my BBB one since I have a coupon I can use, etc.

I think they are all the same though. I didn't see one that DH and I both went OOOOH about.

Ok I think we're going with coils.  I started thinking foam may be kinda hot to sleep on? I know I could go round and round so Im gonna go with this one.  Pretty reasonable, high coil count, non-toxic and good reviews.  Im ordering it today so we'll see what its like when it gets here!

OK we got our mattress yesterday and I really like it!  It fits very snugly in the crib (yay) and its a good weight and feels nice (ie doesn't feel cheap at all). It's nice and firm but not too firm.  I like that they specifically call out that its non-toxic and that it has an infant and a toddler side (longer use, double yay!)   Anyway, just thought I'd share in case anyone was still looking, I'd definitely recommend this mattress and even though its a "DaVinci" mattress, we don't have a DaVinci crib and it still fits perfectly!

OK we got our photo 1165845-1
