crinoline?

I'm thinking about getting one to put under a mermaid gown... Has anyone seen this? How did it look??

I actually had 2 layers of it sewn into the bottom of my mermaid gown, b/c it looked too flat when I tried it on w/out it, I'm glad I did it, b/c it gave it that extra "something".
