Cuteboy2me: Wedding Week Recap

I was scheduled to work Monday and Tuesday of the wedding week.  It was an easy shift 6p-2am, so I was able to work on any last minute stuff during the day.  I was hoping there wouldn't be much stuff, but of course there were some things.

Monday - I spent the morning on the phone trying to find transportation for the day of for the girls.  FI had been adamant all the way up until the last 2 weeks, that the girls could/would get themselves around.   Then, all off a sudden it didn't sit well with him.  Many calls later, I rented a Lincoln Navigator that would fit all people needed.  Phew!  Never breaking a sweat!  I knew a solution would be found just had to think it through. 

Tuesday - I woke up feeling like crap. Last scheduled work day until after the wedding.  Todd and I went out to the reception hall to give the co-ordinator our seating lay out.  Took all of an hour there and back.  I got home and from that simple task and could barely hold my head up.  I called in sick to work and went to bed for 4 hours.  I only prayed whatever was bothering me would be gone by Saturday. 

Wednesday - Pampering Day!  Facial.  Mani/Pedi.  Eyelash Extensions.  
The facial was amazing, but the sinus pressure and pain was excruciating while the facial was performed.  It was nice though to lay back and physically check out and be massaged and pampered. 

The mani/pedi was so nice.  I love that process.

Eyelash extensions went well, but not as good as the place I had my trial done.  I went to two different places because I used a Groupon on both times. My extensions are already falling off and the first place I wasn't sure they would ever come off.

Thursday - Went to the final fitting for the girls. That went well. Still loved the dresses and so did the girls. 

Todd's 2 daughter's came by the house for dinner   Todd and I were working on our speech and his youngest daughter was working on her's, but really struggling.  I tried reading our speech to give her an idea. Ya, that didn't work out too well. I couldn't get through the first paragraph and we were all in tears.  

Off we went to meet with the DJ to discuss the overall layout of our day and to discuss any last minute changes are wants that we may have had.

Rehearsal was Thursday night and it went well.  I loved the idea of being in the church and knowing that in 2 short days I would be Mrs. Smart. No nerves at all, just an overall sense of peace. 

After that, Todd and I headed home to load up the truck to have everything ready for the reception hall set up.  Holy wow!  That was a lot of stuff. 

Friday - Reception hall set up was an all day event.  One of the girls had hoped to go out for lunch - dinner would have been more like it.  We started at 9:30 and finished at about 3:30p.  

The vision I had for the place was realized though.  It looked exactly as I had hoped it would.  I loved it and the physical sacrifice of those that love both Todd and I to make "my" vision and our wedding a reality, is truly amazing.

After setting up the reception hall I had to run to the printers to pick up the programs and then to a friend's place that was doing my bouquet as a gift for me. - So sad about my bouquet.  It was not at all how I wanted it and I had my one and only bridezilla moment when I got home from her house.  I learned a valuable lesson in regards to myself and others in that experience.  More on that much later in my posting.

Todd and I hosted a dinner for our out of town guests and wedding party at a restaurant owned by friends.  It was amazing.  25 people were there for us and it was so good to have that extra time with people we don't see often.

We gave our attendants their gifts. I had Todd write in cards for my girls and I wrote in cards to his girls.  That brought all 4 girls to tears.  My girls are used to my messages of love and support in cards and Todd's daughters now got a taste. My girls loved that they were brought to tears too!  :)

The toughest part of that day was acknowledging my father in law.  The entire room was teary eyed.  My father in law then went to Todd and thanked him for loving me and taking care of me.  To see 2 men I love beyond measure, sharing a moment because of their mutual love of me - priceless!!!!

After dinner it was good night to Todd and off to the house I went with 4 girls.  We talked and laughed and tried to get to bed early.  I was finally able to get to bed about 12:30.  All things considered, not too bad.  

I got a text from Todd about 11:30 - Sweet dreams until wedding day morning. 

Aww! I loved reading this! Action packed right up until the day! I am so happy the reception hall turned out the way you wanted and I am in suspense waiting to hear more of the bouquet!  I can't wait to see pictures!

Sounds like you had a great week! I am hoping the bouquet situation worked itself out and that you had the wedding of your dreams!!

great week recap! I too am in suspense waiting to hear more of the bouquet!  I can't wait to see pictures!

The wedding bouquet wasn't so much a hiccup, just the person not listening to my vision.  As much as she harrassed the he!! out of me.  I would have much rather done the bouquet myself than depend on someone else. Someone, I thought would listen to me and then didn't.  :(

Sorry your bouquet wasn't what you envisioned! But I am happy the rest of the wedding sounds like what you envisioned!
