so yesterday was my fitting - the latest dress i bought is too effin big - could be worse, it could have been too small ;-)

so more alterations needed - to the tune of $300...

oh well... i'm going abck in this saturday to see if anytihng else needs to be done

can i just vent--->  i want the neckline lower - like i'd like to show some cleavage please!  do some of you feel that since our boobs are bigger - that the seamstress just thinks we should cover all of them - i felt like the fabric was at my neck!  LOL!!!

i mean, ok, i'm fat - whatever - but it's not like the dress is ill fitting - it's too fckng big - so i asked her to lower the neckline a little bit b/c the way it is now - i look even "huger"!

LOL!

i'll post pics saturday after the final fitting

Some people think that bigger girls just need to be covered up completely.  Don't they know big girls are sexy too?

Agreed chances! We are just a slizzlin as our slim counterparts!

So sorry to hear how much alt's are gonna cost d1rty!

I am still pissed about my alts! I spend $150 for the bustle (wasn't even done the way I wanted), and to have the bust taken in a smidge. Well looking at my pro pics, the bust wasn't taken in enough and you can sooo tell in the pics that it is ill fitting, aarrgghh!!!!!!!!!

... i mean i'm not saying i'm hot or sexy or w/e - but i just feel like the fabric is too high - which makes me look even fatter around the face and neck area - there's not enough space between where the neckline is and where my neck and face are

i'm just going to see hw it goes on saturday...

That was the problem I had with trying on plus sized dresses, I felt like they were trying to cover up the boobage too much. Its one of the places I don't have a problem with, and the hubby likes them (what guy doesn't right?) so why are they cut to cover them up?

And its much better for it to be too big than too small, kwim? Plus, its a good ego boost :D

aaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhhhh

sigh of relief!

went to my fitting today - the neckline was lowered on my "first reveal" dress ; the seamstress also chopped 8 inches of the top part of the dress and the waist then sewed back together so now the waist of the dress is where my natural waist is =)

looks so so so much better!  and they didnt need to do the hemline at all since they took it up from the waist =)

this is the dress i'm wearing for our reveal:

i'm so excited!  so dh will see me in the model novias inspired dress for our pre-ceremony pics then in the dressing room once we get to church - i am changing into my beloved henry roth gown:

OMG I LOVE that first dress Dirty1, where did you find it? its perfect!

I completely feel you. I went to have my not so fab dress altered to make it better. They wanted -get this- $430 to make the skirt a mermaid and add a shoulder, as well as tighten it abit. Thats more than I paid for the dress! grrrr.
