David's Bridal Sells Your Contact Info!

Hey girls, I'm not sure if you all are aware of this but I just learned this the hard way and thought I'd share this info with you.  I'm from L.A. but I went to David's Bridal in Costa Mesa ONE TIME with a friend to try on dresses for fun a couple of weeks ago.  They make you fill out a form with your name/address/phone number which they b.s. you by saying it's in case you buy a dress and they need to contact you to let you know it's in or whatever.  Evidently, there's some disclaimer that let's you know they might "share" your info with their affiliates and gives you the chance to "opt out".   Well lo and behold, every single evening for the last two weeks at the exact same time I've been getting a phone call from this number (888) 822-0335 which I keep ignoring.  I finally googled the number the other day and found out it's from the Mens Wearhouse/David's Bridal.  Then today I check my PO Box and I've got junk mail from random (non-bridal) companies in Orange County.  Thank goodness I didn't give them my home address!  Clearly, their definition of "affiliates" is used rather loosely.  I had to waste my time calling these places to tell them to remove me from their mailing lists.  I am so annoyed with David's Bridal that I will never in a million years ever buy my dress from them.  Anyway, just thought I'd give you a head's up so you can remember to check the opt out box if you go there!

This happened to me too. Almost all of the marketing materials mispelled my last name and that's how I knew they got their contact info. from DB. So annoying.

DB Sold my friend's info even though she checked off the box to opt out on the registration form!  After several annoying vendor calls, she called DB corporate customer service at (800) 823-2403 to complain and demanded to be removed from their website.  After couple of weeks, the calls stopped.

the salesgirl actually told me that they make them call to follow up with brides.  then she showed me the list where she is to write the date and time of every call and the result of the call (message, spoke with someone, etc) and there were like 14 lines!!  it's totally shady but it's coporate's policy.  i just never answered and the calls stopped.  boo!!
