Hey Everyone,

I can't believe its almost been 4 months since I moved away from home to start school. I remember being months away from making the actual move and dreading what life would be like in college. Well it certainly hasn't been easy, possibly one of the most difficult things I've ever had to do. However if I had to do it all over again, I'd probably have done it the same way. My FI has been extreamly supportive. We've had our really bad moments but ultimately I think we're proving to each other every day that we really want to be together.

Based on my last two posts we've actually decreased the wedding budget a bit after putting things in perspective. We've decided to use one of the timeshares my parents have which cut the budet by about $1000. I've also been approved for taking up a part time job at school so that will help to cut down on tuition so that we can save for a down payment on a home. 

 I really want to have a larger reception later though. So I guess an important question would be how long is "too long" to wait before we have our reception? Just wanted to hear opinions. 

There's no right or wrong amount of time. Whatever works for you guys is just right. Congratulations on taking the steps to further your education, it will most definitely pay off in the end.

Totally agree with the above ladies! Focus on your education and the down payment for  your new home! What is really important that you and your soulmate will be wed! There is no set time limit on having a reception. Great idea about the timeshare! Me and DH have one and we have not used it since we purchased in 2009.
