I think this year we're going to put the tree and christmas focus downstairs, we finally painted the room and re-finished the firplace so the lower level is getting tons of use now *smiles*. My tree decor is purple, silver and blue and other then some tall silver/sparkly branches for the vases I've got a whole lot of zip/nadda for the mantel. I need some inspirational photos to help me get started!

Hmmm - I love this idea - although the cranberries are red not purple or silver - but I bet you could do something similar by using silver ornaments or some silver pine stems submerged under the floating candles?  I'd anchor them in some clear marbles too perhaps. . .
