Well after I had that spotting last weekend I ended up going to the ER . They did my hcg level which was 1257, i repeated a couple days later and it was 1321. My dr. Ordered a third one the next day and it went back down to 1265. It should have doubled by this point. He did an ultrasound on tuesday and we saw the beginning of a gestational sac and he said he wants to wait for my progesterone level to come back but at this point we're thinking i'm probably going to miscarry. I'm completely torn apart but I just keep reminding myself that for whatever reason this LO just isn't meant to be. I'mJust hoping for some answers soon so we can move on

I'm so sorry to hear that xxx

Maybe it was just a dodgy test result, it can happen! I'm keeping everything crossed for you.

Big hugs xxx

I just found this and I wanted to share it with you.  I found a lot of solace in it...

Most pregnancies result in healthy babies (less than 20 percent end in miscarriage), says Karyn Morse, MD, an ob-gyn at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles. "Remember also that most miscarriages also happen within the first few weeks of pregnancy, when many women typically don't realize they're expecting and wouldn't know if they did miscarry. They'd just get a normal-looking period," she says. After your doctor can see a heartbeat (usually around 6 to 8 weeks) the risk of miscarriage drops to about 5 percent. And there's very reassuring news if you should have one. The odds of having a second miscarriage is very small -- less than 3 percent, says Diane Ashton, MD, MPH, deputy medical director for the March of Dimes. So what causes a miscarriage? Often, it's due to a chromosomal abnormality that prevents the fetus from developing normally, and miscarrying is totally unavoidable -- not because of anything you did or didn't do. But you can lower your risk by not smoking or drinking alcohol and cutting back on your caffeine intake (aim for 200 milligrams or less, or one large cup of coffee, a day).

thanks everyone. I am trying to stay hopefull. I have read that bleeding and being dehydrated can cause temporary dips in hcg early in pregnancy. I'm still having some light brown spotting but it's not nearly like it was and i'm still having pregnancy symptoms. I swear my boobs have grown half a size in the last two days. I think after this next test on monday i'm going to ask my dr. If we can just wait until my original ultrasound date and see if anything is developing. All this testing is doing nothing but stressing me out.

I am so sorry for everything you have been going through!  I am keeping FX for you that your issue is dehydration like you said above.  I recently read about someone who had similar complaints and a dip like you and was told by drs. she was m/c and needed to take pills to complete the process.  she wanted to wait, like you, and her levels did rebound an she now has a healthy baby.  I wish I could remember where I read her story as I'd repost it here.  I think you have a good plan and I am hoping for the best for you!  No matter what, I am sorry you had to go through all of this!

So I tried to find the original article (and couldn't), but I found this instead.  I am hoping you are the 1 in 23!  FX for you!

Well, hope is quickly fading. The spotting is now red instead of brown and my progesterone level was only 1.8.
