Who has found a place where they could actually try on the dresses?

Please post about it here!

David's was the only place I came by, and they didn't have many at the one I went to, which is sad for them as they are supposedly like the Wal-Mart of bridal - you know, one stop shop for everyone.

Alfred Angelo (where I bought my dress) has dresses up to size 26-28. The best thing is, they don't charge extra for plus size, petite, or tall dresses!!!

I got mine from a consignment store.  The dress I ended up with was a David's Bridal.  However, the customer service was way better than David's Bridal.  I got to try on the dress in my size.  I took home the dress the same day, instead of waiting for months.  And I saved money!

The only place I found was David's Bridal...  I even tried a salon that carried alfred angelo-- and their largest sample size was a 12  :(  So I only shopped at David's.

Oh thank god i'm not the only one. You guys understand my pain!! lol I have been feeling so crappy lately because I haven't been able to try any on. I don't want to buy a dress without trying it on first but at the same time I was supposed to have ordered my dress by last week so i'm kinda screwed. I have been looking for 3 months and have only been able to try on probably 5 dresses. I even went to indy cause there is a place there that has dresses up to size 28 so I would have for sure been able to try something on. I got there and they had gone out of business though so I didn't get to try anything on. :( The places here for the most part only have dresses that are size 16 and under, even davis bridal. It sucks. I found a place in south bend that sounds promising so i'll be making an appointment come monday. HOPEFULLY my fat a** can finally try on some dresses!! lol I am seriously thinking about starting my own plus size bridal business just cause this is rediculous!! lol

I second the Alfred Angelo designer, but check their website and see if they have a corporate store nearby, and not a salon that just carries their line.  I drove 250 miles to one, and tried on about 10-12 dresses in size 22-26.  Ordered it in May, and picked it up in August.  Prices were reasonable as well

I don't have any pictures of me, but here's my dress.

I second the Alfred photo 928118-1

Good luck!
