Destinctive Designs Bridals in Rockville, MD.  I went there yesterday and they have a nice selection of dresses for Plus Size brides.  They were the 3rd bridal salon that I've visited and I tried on 4 dresses where everywhere else I went I was only able to try on 1 or 2 tops.

They were REALLY nice to work with!

I would see if you could find a salon that carries Maggie Sottero dresses. She is a great designer and her gowns look good on us curvier girls. I agree that you should call around to the salons in your area before going out there and being disappointed.

I went to the Blue by Enzoani Gorgeous with Curves trunk show at the Exquisite Bride in Gibsonia, PA, (The first time I went they had ONE Dress for me to try on, so it was a much welcomed change) They aren't that great quality of photos but it'll help some you ladies! The one dress I adored (Colombia!) was two sizes too small so the sample looked horrendous on me, I had my bewbs popping out of everywhere, but all the Enzoani dresses I tried on were corset back except the Colombia, and they all have build in corsets, and are super comfy!!

Dress Number One (I didn't know any of the names except the Colombia so sorry that I don't know!)

Dress Number Two

Dress Number Three (hated this one...)

I went to the photo 2054305-5

Dress Number Four (Dropped waist is AWESOME but I didn't like my poofy air bags on my hips)

I went to the photo 2054305-6

Dress Number Five (with an AMAZING train!)

I went to the photo 2054305-7

There's my picture spam!! I'm done I swear. :) I still LOVE the colombia but I'm having a hard time commiting to it... it OBVIOUSLY would look better in my size though, and if I didn't have a bustier on that was too small, The bustier was pushing all my junk out of the top and bottom and it made me look like I had a bigger belly :(

Also - All their dresses have removable spaghetti straps! The one dress had awesome blingy spaghetti straps, but the spaghetti straps on Colombia were really plain and it looks better without the spaghetti straps. A lot of their spaghetti straps to were too big and fell right off my shoulders, which was the only disadvantage I really had.

RK Bridal in NYC, had a ton of different designer plus size dresses.  I went to David's but didn't find "the"dress and didn't care for the customer service.  Then I came back to NY and went to RK, the sales girls were great and the owner was amazing.  If anyone wants the store info PM me  and i  will send it to you.

I think I'm having a hard time commiting because I LOVEEE Maggie Sottero's Beth. I want it so bad but everyone says that mermaid style looks horrible on plus size girls, and all that other blah-crap. Plus I can't try it on anywhere. Brian keeps telling me just to order it because he thinks I'd look amazing in it, but he's the kind of guy that likes booty. lol.

I have to say I'm kind of peeved about this!  I mean I just went to a bridal show where the venodrs are like jackels for your business.  All of these bridal stores invited me to come visit them, but when I ask if they carry plus sizes to try on- they all whipser, "we actually dont' have that much."  Then they say that you can try on something similar and then order the other dress- what is you order the dress and it's terrible- goodbye hundres or thousands of dollars!!!

A sample size it what and 8 or a 10, yet the average woman is a 14??? How does that make sense!!!

Sorry just needed to rant...

@XxMyXx I dont buy into certain styles not being for the curvy girls. I think that if you want the mermaid style go for it.

@bfly23 I totally had the same rant. I dont think its fair that smaller brides get to try on dresses and plus size brides have to have to plastered against them and look in a mirror. Sadly that is how many purchase their dresses. Davids is ok, but many have sucky customer service and who wants to deal with that while they are trying to find the most important dress of their lives! Just keep looking, you will find a bridal salon that caters to the curvy bride.
