Has anyone else heard about the company Diamond Nexus? According to their website they make a "lab-created diamond simulant that must function exactly like an earth-mined diamond". It says "No one in the world, including your jeweler, can tell that a Diamond Nexus stone is not a natural diamond without scientific testing." I guess it's becoming a more popular option for people looking for bigger presentations with a smaller price tag and also for people interested in conflict-free diamonds (in regards to the whole blood diamond thing). They are guaranteed flawless and have all the same features/characteristics of a real diamond. A girl I work with told me that's where she got her engagement ring and it's beautiful. I just don't know about it not being truly real, although I like the idea of it not being a "conflict diamond" and no one would ever know unless you told them. I was thinking you could get a loose stone from there and have it set in a real setting or something. Plus, I know the hold up in my situation is the whole affordability thing. Boo. Some of the reviews said some people get that stone initially with the intention of swapping it out eventually for a real one when they can afford it, but they love that one so much they ended up wanting to keep it as is. Check out the website. It's interesting to read about the science behind them! diamondnexus.com

sounds cool, there something else like that...moissanite i think? anywho, be careful, some girls said you could tell under a black light...and it just looked dull...

i personally wouldn't mind not having a real diamond, i am in love with colored gems (and of course colored diamonds)

i think if it suits you, it's a great idea!

Ahhh... I've heard of people getting the moissanite rings, but I didn't realize they were a similar thing. Interesting! I've just recently started hearing about these so I was wondering if anyone else knew about them. Thanks!

I googled them and found all sorts of bad reviews...but I'm curious to see for myself. I hope we can find someone with real world experience!
