Did anyone else NOT do rsvps?

Just wondering. I'm feeling like a bit of an oddball after reading all of these rsvp posts, lol. I just didn't  see the need for them in our situation. We are part of a pretty tight knit circle of family and close friends. Did anyone else forego the rsvp?

While we didn't forego the RSVPs, I can understand if you did so to save money--especially if you know that those you've invited will let you know if they're coming or not.  Just make sure that you get a final count, especially if you need them for a caterer and baker.

It totally depends on your situation, you're right!! Even though we're thinking most people will show up, we need to give numbers to the venue for catering so rsvp was a must :)

We didn't forego them, but most of our guests did.  Seriously, I live in an area where the RSVP means next to nothing, so it was a big guessing game for us.

I had the same experience as LauraSweet and I was so pissed! I wish I had not done RSVP's considering half the guest did not send them back. I could have saved money on them as well as stamps if I knew no one was going to send them back. People actually told me they didn't know they were supposed to send them back. Well what did you think they were for? Decoration???? Don't feel bad that you did not send them out. You saved money and time!  Lol.

Lol at Mrs. Young's comment. I was thinking of doing an RSVP electronically to our wedding website or getting a wedding email. Seems like a good way to go but I know some of the older guests aren't so tech savvy.

I say do it Miss.Shondra!! If you go back and read post, many brides, including me, had RSVP nightmares!

i created an rsvp email! out of the 140 we invited, im pretty positive atleast 120-130 of them will show, so to save money on the stamps that people tend to ignore, we are just doing it electronically! our venue (which im renting my friends bar) doesnt need a head count until we pay at the end of the night. so we will bring enough money to pay for 140, and ill be pleasently surprised when/if i have to pay for less!

EDIT-- @shondra, for our older relatives/guests, i added in a little card saying "if you are unable to RSVP via email, kindly mail us your reply to: (address)"   out of the 140, we knew only 4 didnt have computers, or know how to work them, so those 4 extra stamps paled in comparison to what it could have been!

We did RSVPs but half of his family has yet to send them back. So I guess we'll just give a head count for who did RSVP and whoever didn't is out of luck. They don't get food then. Its their fault. Plus when we ask they say they don't know. Oh ok I'll just wait until you do know seeing as to how I don't NEED to know. I just sent them out because I wanted to waste the money... UGH
