So I have a party I'm throwing this weekend, and I wanted to do some kind of mexi-chili dip that I had awhile back with fritos chips...anyone know what I'm talking about??  If not...any creative, relatively clean, appetizer suggestions? :)  TIA

I actually don't know what you're talking about, but my go-to's are always spinah-artichoke dip and 7 layer bean dip.  Interested in either one of those?  Not really creative I know :(

My sis makes an AWESOME chili dip. All you need is 3 ingredients. 1 package of cream cheese, a can of chili (I use hormel with beans), and cheddar cheese (just enough to coat the top, probably about a cup and a half?)

Lay out the cream cheese for a while to soften
Preheat the oven to 350
Spread the cream cheese in the bottom of your pan
Pour the chili on top
Sprinkle cheese to cover
Bake for 30 minutes-so easy!

I thought it sounded gross when I first heard cream cheese with chili-but I've never met a person who has tried it and doesn't like it! I double this recipe if I'm bringing it to a party, but for just me and DH I just use a small pan (like 9x9) so that the cream cheese isn't spread too thin.

@ alatiel..that seven layer bean dip sounds great

@ jbl04d... I've had that dip!  At school we used to make it with skyline chili (without the noodles)... yummy!!!  I may try that!

...I was thinking yesterday that I think I had the fritos with a bbq chicken dip. :/

I'm making some of that regardless.

I love this dip--you can either heat it in the microwave, or in the crock pot!

  • 1 (10 oz) pkg drained chopped spinach
  • 1 lb velveeta cut into 1/2 in. cubes
  • 4 oz. cream cheese
  • 1 (10 oz) can Rotel
  • 8 slices bacon, crisp and crumbled

I make a chili cheese dip for Super Bowl that's pretty popular-...In a crock pot, I cut up the large block of Velveeta Cheese, put 2 cans of Hormel chili with beans and about 8 oz of salsa and let it cook for a couple hours. :) delicious!
