Dissappointed with an Etsy Seller :(

I really wanted some cute clutches for my bridesmaids and the mum's and grandma's for our wedding.

I saw some that I liked and decided to go shopping on Etsy. As I couldn't find exactly what I was after for the price I was prepared to pay I set up a thing on Alchemy so sellers could put in bids on making what I wanted.

I was so pleased when a lady said that she would more than happy to make them for me and it wouldn't be a problem.

Then I received an email this morning with a pic of what she had made...

Oh My Goodness!!! WHAT HAVE I DONE?!

This is basically what I wanted (created by another Etsy seller, but out of my price range)

 but in cream, chocolate and fuschia

I really appreciate the work she's put into it, but it's not what I want. I've contacted her again with more pics of what I want and she said she'll do a layout of it and send a pic of it to me before she starts on the rest of them. But now I'm so worried that I'm not going to like them :(

What do I do?

Ugh- I would be upset too :(  You are the customer and if you don't like it- let her know!

I'm pretty much at the point where I want my money back and to go to a different seller :( but I feel so bad! Do Etsy have a money back policy?

that is TOTALLY different from what you wanted.  she should understand that its not exactly the same clutch as the one you sent.  i am no help since i'm not familiar with how etsy works..

hope some of the other girls who have experience with etsy will have some advice for you.

I would send her your inspiration photo again, and kindly ask that she try again: remember that you are giving her money to do this: you shouldn't be obligated to something you don't like.  

Maybe make some constructive critisicm. . .kindly of course. . .like, well, I was hoping to see one with a flower on it like the clutch in the lower right, can you try that for me?  I would like to have these clutches as close as possible to my inspiration'

Don't be afraid to ask for what you want :)

Dominique...is the shape and color what you wanted? I am hoping that she is just joking because besides it being a snap top those clutches look nothing alike. I would be honest with her...

I was kinda hoping for bigger embellishments and a more rectangle clutch.
The colours are perfect.
Is there anyway you could stiffen the interior so it 'holds up' more?
And I'd like the ruffle to be 'frilly-er'

I've attached a pic which I'd like the clutches to look similar (not including the ruffle) to and with an embellishment a similar size to what I was hoping for.

Hi, once these are filled they are stiffer...but I can try and add some interfacing to the lining for that effect, as for the embellishings, I can make those rosettes with the brown if you want? I only have one more shot at it, as I only ordered enough frames for your order, and once they are attached I cant take them apart..I will keep this one for myself...I will get a couple ideas layed out and send you pictures before I start assembly..:)

Fingers crossed it all turns out ok. I'm just going to be gutted if it still looks like it does now :(

OMG I would be disappointed too. I love the picture of the "inspiration clutches". She got it all wrong. I guess give her one more shot and then back out.
