Do you think I need ceremony flowers? Saint Mary's is such a huge church that I don't think it will make much of a dent. What do you think about a large arrangement on the altar? What about flowers on the pews?

If you are trying to save on your budget, I don't think you need pew flowers. They are a nice touch though. I didn't have anything on the pews. I had 2 altar arrangements which cost me an additional $95 each plus a unity candle arrangement ($65), which I used later for my headtable. If I didn't have to donate the 2 altar arrangements to the church, I could have used them at the reception. That is something you can do if they church allows you to take it.

Your church looks so enormous I'm not sure if flowers would do that much.

I think flowers on the pews and alter would be nice. It will look great for photo shots down the aisle and close ups of the ceremony.

I guess if the pew flowers can be reused for the head table it might be ok.

Yeah, I forgot to mention that my cousin did that with her pew flowers.

I don't think pew flowers are that important, but I like altar arrangements. We were able to take the altar arrangements and use them at the reception...

it all depends on your church. since st mary's a catholic church you'll mostly likely have to donate the flowers. talk to your coordinator there.i love your church. its stunning w/ or w/o flowers. gl.

of course the alter, but just for pictures, do a few rows of the pews...
then take em with you when you leave.....;>

I actually made my own topiaries for about $30 each and they're huge.. i should take a pic tonight to show you. I made 4 of them 2 at the front of the church and 2 on the alter.. I also am planning on renting single aisle candelabra's to take up some space in the church.. I'm putting 1 every 3 pews or so and it does make it look cozier. No flowers except for our bouquets.. The aisle candelabras are $10 each so it's not too bad.
