UGH! Some of you know that my FI has been ill. He came down sick about two weeks ago, was misdiagnosed and given antibiotics and when he was feeling worse instead of better, went to a specialist and was diagnosed (correctly this
time) with a terrible virus that usually only affects children (I learned that childhood viruses in adults that never had them can be fatally worse!).
So, he is unable to speak due to ulcers in his mouth, throat and larynx. I've been handling all the calls to family - including his mother who is (excuse me) two cards short of a full deck.
[Backstory:We are in the process of trying to get her in a nursing home because she is going downhill fast with early onset dementia brought on from alcoholism (she is recovered but already did the damage years ago). She is a MEAN nasty
person that even her children do not like her (FI asked me if she had to come to the wedding!) and so hard to take care of her due to her personality disorder. You just want to throw your hands up and ler do something to herself instead of try
to help her]
Well, I'm trying to call her today to update her on his condition. We JUST got back from the Dr's office (looking better!) and when I try to call, her line goes straight to voicemail - UGH - she's left the doggone phone off the hook
again!!!!!
I am sitting here posting on PW when I turn around in my home office chair and SHE IS STANDING RIGHT BEHIND ME!!!!! Jesus lady! You about gave me a heart attack!
She demands to know where her son is and how he is doing. I told her I just tried to call her because we just got back in from the Dr's. She is looking at me like she has daggers for eyes and is trying to kill me. She asks how long
he has been sick. I say, "Two weeks - remember I started calling and talking to you last weekend and I've been updating you every day?!" She says that I never called her and she had no idea he was sick until HER daughter (his sister) called
her.
ARE YOU FREAKIN' KIDDING ME?! I KNOW YOU ARE LOSING YOUR MIND BUT I'M ABOUT TO LOSE MINE YOU GOSH DARN FREAK! My soul mate is sick and I'm living with his ghost every day worrying about him and nothing I can do but make sure he is
comfortable and now you are accusing me of this!
