I went into Men's Wearhouse today and the salesperson said that if the groom/groomsmen wear white shirts then my ivory dress will look "dingy" standing next to them.  I honestly never really thought about this.  I just always imagined the groom wearing a white shirt, even if he was wearing a cream tie and vest (see example pic below).

The "ivory" that is available at MW has a very yellow undertone which we didn't particularly care for.

For those wearing an ivory dress, what are you planning to do?  What are your thoughts on this?

I've always heard that ivory shirts with black tuxes look dingy, and white is best. Odd that the salesman said your dress would be the dingy one! My groom had a white shirt and ivory vest and tie... to go with my dingy dress! haha

I'm hoping to find a light ivory shirt. Just in case. ;)

I've actually never thought of that before but an Ivory shirt with ivory dress sounds pretty cool... but I think FI is wanting to wear a white shirt.  I'd deff test it out first though to see how it goes with the suit.

I hate to admit it but the salesman is right in your photos sometimes you can see the difference. My dress is pink, there is no way FI is wearing a pink shirt.  Bur Gucci does have a pink tie. lol

Also I forgot to mention this was MW/Moore's shirts...and your right, their ivory isn't pretty...which is why we went white!

The saleswoman at Men's Warehouse tried to persuade us to go with the Ivory shirt also.  I already knew that I wanted my DH to wear a white shirt and ivory vest because I liked the look.  Here's a picture:

My dress is ivory and DH is wearing his naval high collar whites and those are the whitest whites you'll ever see.  I think it'll look fine :)

That person at the MW does NOT know what they are talking about. It's pretty standard that the guys wear white shirts no matter what your dress color.  Please? Dingy?  They're incorrect.
