I don't know about some of you ladies but for me, I don't care if the ring was from a crackjack box, as long as it looks nice and doesn't turn my finger green.. :-D

Well maybe not exactally but you get the point.. I "lurk" alot on different boards and OMGOSH they make me soo mad sometimes.. Someone posted about liking but not loving there E-ring. Someone replied after a few in between... finding out it was bought at Zales--- they replied "if you can return it please do. I hope I don't offend, but Zales is not the most cost effecitve place for a E Ring."

What is the point? If you don't want to offend the person due to the ring being bought at Zales don't mention it.. Ok this is kinda a Vent to... I don't know it just upsets me that some really expect a $2000 or more ring... I mean thats a downpayment on a house. or a car..
My ring was bought at Boscovs (a local retail store most should have heard of this store.) My wedding band will be coming from Zales.. Hell it's CHEAP but I don't care.. $200-$300 fine with me. Thats' even pricey for my taste but I'll deal with it.. I love the ring we picked out for my wedding band. My e-ring is very different it is more of a band/ann. ring then anything. so I was very curious of what we'd choose for my band. and we found an amazing look together.

I don t know photo 1151364-1I don t know photo 1151364-2
It took me awhile to get use to being "different" but I love my ring now.

So, in the vent I have 2 questions..
Does it really matter where the ring is from?? Weather its yours or your best friend's ring, would you think badly or "wow they're cheap, zales isn't very pricey"???

thanks

Hi, No it doesn't matter, as long your happy who cares. If the person who has it on their finger has friends that are wanting something flashy, so bit it. For me I am not wanting 2 rings (again), I know the ring I am getting my thing it has to be sturdy enough to take on a bull, same for my FH ring. We are getting ours from a jeweler he found in a magazine. so who cares.. As long as your happy..

Your rings are very pretty and will look great.

Mayo to me it's not about the ring. I don't care where the ring comes from. since I am not into jewerly at all.

I am actually getting my FMIL wedding set. My FH dad passed away when we were 15 so she has bith of there rings. She actually has the whole set. Her two and his wedding ring. So those are the rings that I am using. But I do plan on changing the stone in it. Maybe in a year or two. She is just waiting for my FH to tell her that he wants it. I have no idea what he is waiting for. But it would be a great b-day if he gave it to me then my b-day is 12/17

I did not and do not care where my e-ring/wedding band comes from. I do not let labels dictate my value of something so sentimental.

And to OP - I've heard people say IN PERSON that they wouldn't accept less than a Tiffany etc.. engagement ring - I had to pick my jaw up off the floor and walk away b/c I was so taken back (their bf was standing RIGHT THERE)!

wow... Yes I don't care about where or how much the rings are. KLD-that would mean alot to me to have something so special from either parents. I think my mom would give up her first set in no time however I DO NOT LIKE IT AT ALL lol.. She has two sets for some reason then again she has tons of rings. my parents been married 44 yrs so.

Anyway. Kaytana--wow yes I would have had to pick up my jaw as well that is aweful. I would never think like that maybe due to my raising or something I don't know.
I actually was showing FI some rings from Walmart.com and I found a set I absolutly loved. However he went and got me my ring from him alone. It wasn't picked out ahead of time. At some point I was sorta disappointed ONLY because it doesn't really look like an engament ring. But I say "HELL WITH THAT" I know it's my engament ring and I love it!! It wasn't even close to any ring I had picked out and told him I liked. He's just real simple and defintially cheap...
But I am too so thats why we're so great for eachother LOL..

I was just shocked that someone would actually say something like that about someone's ring in question.. On a forum. I mean maybe they don't have the guts to say it in person so they just said it online. But it still hurts. Then you just have to suck it up and remember you don't care what others think.

Jaysgirl-I love the ring :-D.. it's very cute. and it does look like an engament ring :-D

Thank you all for the comments on my rings.. the V one isn't mine yet but that is a work in progress to be my wedding band..

on the subject.. FI's ring is about $75 dollars LOL.. but it's handmade irish ring :-D lol..

Mayo, thank you. I LOVE it, but I think if you and FH are happy with the rings that you shouldn't let anyone bring you down. Good luck! :)
