What is your dream job or unit....

Mine is: My heart is in ped onc... so I want to get back into that...

When /If I get my FNP or PNP I want to work in a drs office and have my own patients. I just loved that I went to the same dr my whole life...and saw the same nurses my whole life. So I want that- I want to see my patients grow and know that I was always there.

I would love to work in the nursery. My mom is a nurse and worked in the nursery for 20 years and then moved to the NICU where she has been for about 10 years.

My dreamjob for now is working for a health care organisation that offers health care for newborn babies and the entire family. You will be linked to a family for 7-10 days, and will provide care to the baby and the mom. You got a leading function within the family when its the 1st to be born, you will "teach" the parents all the personal care of the baby, but you also take care of the mom after a delivery (Mind that most women in the NL deliver the baby at home and dont go to a hospital)

You can also be called in to help out during a delivery (YOu wont be the person who actually does the work, but you will arrange everything around it)

Bummer is that I almost had this job last May :( But cause deliveries cant be scheduled, there was no option to get a fulltime job. And with us planning to get married I needed a fulltime job to save up money. But well... maybe in the future ;)

Haha, my dream job is in cardiothoracic surgery - which I'm already in - Only my dream involves super-sick patients only (vents, lots of drips, balloon pumps and CVVHD), monday thru friday, no weekends, no holidays... Lol, considering this job doesn't exist, I think I picked the wrong career =P

Dream job...hmm every patient outcome turned out happy and I never made a mistake!  JK!  I would really love to eventually teach future nurses.  Either education within a hospital or at a school/clinicals.  i definately want to stay at the bedside in some way though!
