Dress insecurity...

by the way my FMIL just surprised me with a wedding dress this evening to be honest i don't like it but i am so happy and blessed that she thought of me and despite us having diffrent tastes in wedding dresses i am going to wear the dress at my reception to make her feel included and it means a lot to me that she wants to give me sweet surprises and i don't want to hurt her.bottom line what i'm trying to say is go with what makes your heart flutter go with the dress you fall in love with because it is your day...make yourself happy

Thanks you guys...you are the best and I'm a breathing a bit easier now.  I do love the dress and it is the dress that I kept going back to over and over and over again and when I picture my wedding in my head, that is the dress that I see myself in. I love the lace and I love the train and the silhouette of the dress and I love that it has sleeves (I have scars to hide from a shoulder surgery) and I love the bodice and how it doesn't emphasis my chest (which is rather voluptuous and a bit of a self conscious factor with me...there are just a lot of things that I love about this dress!

I don't really know if I can put my finger on why I am/was feeling insecure about it...I guess I was just feeling like maybe it wasn't elegant enough or maybe didn't have that WOW factor...but it does feel very me and I know that my FI will think I'm beautiful no matter what I'm wearing that day.

kblove - yes, I thought the same thing!!!  I think it is the same dress only hers is strapless and mine has sleeves :-)

I think you can't go wrong either way!  You look beautiful in the dress, and if it makes you happy then you should go with it.  But if you feel insecure or uncomfortable in it, get a new one (if the budget allows).  But I think your dress suits you and I love the lace at the bottom of it!

I think you LOOK stunning in the dress!  It is soooooo gorgeous on you! 

Will you have a bustle?  I'm curious to see what it will look like with that!

Actually, the dress doesn't bustle but I'm going to check with a local tailor and see if there is something that we can do to make some sort of bustle.  I don't really want to walk around all night with the train looped over my arm. :-)
