I'm planning on ordering my dress from Dressilyme, but am curious as to whether there is a customs fee. I am located in Illinois and I've come across a forum or two where brides say they were surprised by customs fees after their dresses had been shipped to them (don't remember which sites they ordered from, but I know they were custom dresses ordered from overseas). Being on a very tight budget, I just want to be prepared for all expenses so I don't get any surprises. Anyone out there that can provide me with some insight on this?

I didn't have any custom fees. I just paid like 250 and DHL delivered it no problem. My dad would have mentioned if he had to pay anything. Were those forms talking about Dressilyme? I ordered mine last year... probably in April? So unless things changed I'd say no. I'd say ask Dressilyme but I doubt they would really know. Maybe DHL because that is who delivered mine. Sorry I couldn't help you more.

Hiya, my dress was $256 so about £180. They put $50 on the invoice and a couple of weeks after delivery I got an invoice from UPS for £15, about $25. £10 out of the £15 was an admin charge, only £5 was the customs fee. Bear in mind this was for an invoice that was valued at $50.
