Yesterday I was at work on break and TWO of my friends posted they were pregnant a couple hours apart!! I was very happy for them of course, but it only made it harder for me to wait until Friday to test for myself. One of the girls came in the breakroom and I joking asked her if she was pregnant too since it seems like everyone is. She said no, definitely not, but it usually comes in threes! Well, this morning I couldn't want any longer so I POAS and it came back pretty quickly... BFP!!!! AHHHH!! SO EXCITED! So I literally woke up, tested, and ran to the computer to tell you ladies first! haha So now a couple questions: how and when to tell DH, and how and when to tell family??? This may sound weird, but I'm nervous to tell family (and even DH) bc of my M/C in October. I'm scared and nervous for this pregnancy. Part of me wants to tell close family on Christmas, but I'm really scared to tell them and what if something happens again? Because if we tell them on Christmas, that'll be about the same time as far along I was the week I M/C. I know chances are low to have another one, but still. What to do? Sorry, kinda long.

That is fantastic news, lex! I honestly do not have much in the way of advice on when or how to tell. I think I, like you, would love to be able to announce on Christmas, but I totally get what you are saying about being a little nervous to do so. Maybe to tell DH you could pick up a cute little baby stocking and put a note "For next Christmas" or something like that??

Congrats to you! FX for a H&H pregnancy!!

Congratulations!! What a lovely Christmas gift!

That's a cute idea missjess!

We told our parents and siblings on Christmas day, it was too good of an opportunity not to, and I was 10 weeks. We were worried about saying anything before the 12 week mark, but it was so wonderful to do it at Christmas.

We made photo calendars for our parents with the July photo being us holding a 'We're having a baby' sign, I gave my sister a Willow Tree figure of a pregnant woman.
My sister told us about her first pregnancy on Christmas day too by giving my Mom a ball of wool and a knitting pattern, it was hilarious because all the girls burst into tears and my brother thought it must just be really rare wool!!

Lol! Canooknic, that's hilarious! Those are great ideas! I will probably be only about 6 weeks on Christmas. DH will be coming home for lunch from work in an hour or so, but I don't if I should say anything yet!

Congrats!!!!!!

We have already agreed we will not be telling anyone until after the 1st trimester because of our risks. Both our mom's are gonna be mad we didn't tell them sooner, but I can't handle their disappointment if I were to m/c, but that is our decision =)

CONGRATS!!!!!!!!!!!!! How exciting! I swear the "It happens in three's" is SO true!!!

If you are anything like me, I wouldnt be able to contain myself... I would at least have to tell my Mom right after DH... Plus not, having at least a glass of wine around Christmas time with my family would scream PREGNANT.

I cannot wait to hear how you told your DH & his reaction :)

My family would have done the same CheekyMar! Me without a glass of wine would have had the alarm bells ringing straight away.

I had great plans for revealing to FI, but when I saw the positive test I couldn't contain my excitement and ran and jumped on the bed and woke FI up!! I had wanted to get a New York Knicks onesie to give him, but it all went wrong! Lol. I then decided that's how I'd reveal with baby #2 but it turned out that my first pregnancy was twins so I never had a second pregnancy!!

SO excited for you lex!  H&H 9 mos to you!  As far as telling people, we were not going to tell anyone when we got BFP, but I had a miscarriage last month and there were concerns of it being ectopic at first.  We had thanksgiving and then plans with his sister and her baby that we had to cancel so we ended up telling the whole thing anyway. Honestly, it was a relief during the m/c to have people check in on me and be there for me.  I could never have handled that alone and DH (who really means well) was not much help as he really just didn't know what to say or do.  Based on all of that, I think when we do get BFP again, we will probably tell immediately family so they can pray for a better outcome for us and be there for things as they were this time.  Of course, that could change again, who knows :)  Best of luck with whatever you decide!

Congrats! Wishing you a happy and healthy 9 months!! I told my DH right away then we waited until I was about 6 weeks to tell my parents -we bought a cute onesie and let my mom open it :) then we told DH's parents when I was about 12 weeks -we were going to tell them over skype (they live in England) when they were at DH's brother's house for my nephew's first birthday but then they (brother and sister-in-law) announce that she was pregnant with baby #2 and we didn't want to steal their thunder so waited a few more weeks -our baby girls are exactly one month apart :)
