I had a vaginal birth 14 yrs ago, then 4 years ago an c section. For the first child i had extensive vaginal tearing, incontinence and a few complications after the delivery. fast forward to 2013 had a vaginal birth 1 week ago.  Midwife said i had tearing and my labia was torn.  Torn labia? I decided to see what she was referring to. I checked myself on the mirror and labia it does not look right, , i could see some of the labia is stiched but there is a part that still  look torn. is this normal, should i go back to see the doctor. baby was delivered by midwife and resident doctor, not my gyn.

I had a 3rd degree tear and still 1 year PP have some minor issues.

I would for piece of mind have your OB check you out just to make sure!

I work on labor and delivery...some doctors and midwives won't even stitch up a minor first degree. So she may have not stitched you completely...or maybe a stitch came out? Address it with your Dr!

@ashle1738 my gyn saw me and said to fix the problem they have to cut me again and restich again. Labia dont look right, I guess the stiches did not work so good, or midwife did not perform a good job. Dont know if i want to be cut again :(
