Although taboo to some, I have been reading a lot about encapsulating your placenta to consume (in the pill form) after you give birth. I have been reading some of the benefits as well, which sound great! And with the increased popularity, I cant help but want to look into it even more. But has anyone had personal experience or know someone who consumed their placenta? Did you/they see any benefit? Some benefits include: Higher energy after birth, increased milk production, fast healing, fast stretch mark reduction, decreased chance of post pardum depression, etc.

I have read a little bit about it but couldn't really wrap my head around doing it myself.

there is a former PW member that I am friends with in FB that I believe has had hers encapsulated. Let me know know if you'd like her info and I can PM it to you.

Before we were TTC, I read that Victoria Beckham did that after she gave birth and I thought it was really interesting. The benefits do sound great but I don't think I could bring myself to actually do it! It's a little "out there" for me lol

there are just way too many other methods of receiving those benefits that don't sound as weird to me...definitely not my thing!

I agree, super out there, but IF the benefits are all they are cracked up to be, I am game. I for sure couldnt do it if they werent in the form of a pill... But I certainly would want to here about personal experiences from real moms before I actually could do it :)

I heard about this too but I wonder if any benefits are lost when you "process" the placenta into a pill form.  NOT that I would consider thowing in some actually chunks of placenta into my soup (some celebrity did that, right).  Ditto, haleigh.

Ha, I tried to google it but I think I just made that up.  But some cultures do put it into soup!  And then again there are a lot of crazies in Hollywood that would do that.
