Time for Part II, the wedding day and honeymoon :)
I actually slept great the night before, which is a huge surprise because I'm usually one of those people who is up all night before something exciting the next day! I think the exhaustion of the few days before caught up with me, which was
perfect lol. Our day started nice and early with hair, 7 am lol. My bridesmaids all went first, then I got my makeup done. Hair and makeup went great. I know my bio has my hair down, but I ended up doing a half-up hair trial with the new hairdresser and
the curls just fell out, so I begrudgingly decided to go with it up. I wasn't really thrilled with the trial on it up either, but with only a few days to go, I decided to just accept it and force myself to like it -- there were parts he just kind
of did quick for purposes of just showing me, though, because the girl that did the braids wasn't there. Well, the morning of the wedding, the braiding girl did the braids and they both helped curl and put the rest up. I LOVED it!!!! The braids were
so me, and I just adored the rest. I was so glad that I loved it. It made me feel way more confident. And the makeup.. flawless. I FINALLY felt like a bride. I was thrilled :)
We were running late, so I really had to rush getting into my dress and ready, and didn't end up getting many pics with my BP or anyone. That is one thing I would give advice on. If you are planning to start a certain time, start 30 minutes
earlier even. Also, make sure you get pictures with everyone you want.. I didn't get a single picture of just me and my brother, or with my BIL's gf, my one aunt, and a few other people I wanted pictures with. The day just goes by ridiculously fast, so
make a mental note ahead of time to do that!!!
Ceremony
At the church, I nervously waited at the bottom with my daddy where no one could see me.. omg was that nerve wracking!! All I wanted was to not look like a crying mess down the aisle lol! Well, I managed, but I was so shaky and couldn't hold a
smile lol!! I did smile, but my face was shaking so hard. It was an emotional walk, but it's such a great memory now♥ Seeing my DH at the end of the aisle was amazing. He looked so sweet, and just so happy and in love. I could cry thinking of
it all lol. I am so lucky♥♥
The rest of the ceremony went great and went by in a flash!! We then took some photos in the church and went to our second location to take pictures. That went really well and we were actually on schedule for everything, which was great!!
Reception
The reception went pretty well. Our DJ screwed up the entrances.. my poor DH worked really hard on picking specific entrance songs for each BP couple, and the DJ only played 2 instead of like 6 different songs, and he also screwed up some of
their names.. SMDH. I outlined names, song, and order in a simple format for him... it should've been a piece of cake. He also screwed up a bunch of other stuff, so he was my vendor I was extremely unhappy with, but oh, well!! We made the best of it!
Everyone seemed to love our photo booth favor and really everything else.. I got so many compliments! A girl who actually worked at the site said she wanted to buy everything from me.. she said she's been working there for over 5 years and has never
seen such a gorgeous wedding done so classy.. which made me sooo happy :) I know I worked hard, with tons of help from my family, so that was exciting! I had a lot of fun at the reception, though!
Our first dance... well, some of you may remember we took dance lessons. We nailed the dance, but we were soooo nervous. I was more nervous for that than to walk down the aisle lol. So the dance itself went perfect, but we both glanced down at
our feet omg almost the whole time... =( haha I was so bummed about that, but its okay. It was still special because it was our dance and it was just a special moment for the two of us. I will always cherish it because DH is not a dancer by any
means, so it meant a lot to me that he took the lessons and did the dance for me... such a sweetheart he is♥
I really can't believe how fast it all went. It really was perfect (minus some silly things) and I was really happy with how it went... I am sooo lucky that I married my best friend. I just can't believe the wedding and honeymoon are OVER...
whattt?! ;)
Honeymoon
Well, I'll keep this short and simple. We spent 12 days in Cancun, at the same resort we went to last summer because we loved it so much. It was heaven!!! We really didn't do too much.. went parasailing, went to a club, and got massages, but the
rest of the time was spent lounging and relaxing!! It was sooo nice to relax after all the craziness. It felt amazing. It was a really wonderful trip to take with my new husband :)
