we saw it last weekend... read no further if you haven't seen it yet. i wouldn't want to spoil it for you! 

personally, i was a bit disappointed because i kept comparing it to the original. the original was so gritty, while this one felt like an after school special. it was definitely geared more towards tweens. the dancing was fun to watch tho!

I almost posted this same question :)   only I haven't seen it .... I know Kerrington from SYTYCD is in it ..... and my kids want to see it but Im trying to get them to wait for the video ;)

it was great to see kerrington dance! but her character was pretty useless... i think she had a total of 5 or 6 lines...

yeah, i would definitely wait until it's on dvd...

i will say that the cafeteria scene was great tho. it was a really well done homage to the original film.

i'm pretty lucky that my DH actually likes to watch dance movies and dance TV shows. ever since we started taking ballroom dance lessons a year ago, he's been really into it!

I actually liked it.  A bit cheesy, but I expect that from those kinds of movies.  I really just watch them for the "talent".  

Now I know this is going to sound horrible, but I've NEVER seen the original :o

So I have nothing to compare it to.  But now I want to.

maybe it's good that you didn't see the original. at least you were able to enjoy the remake!

i would definitely recommend seeing the original tho!
