No, that song is to blame. Not the PMS.  Unless I'm PMS'ing and don't know it! But I cried from just reading it.

Juliet... seriously it's the song... and to top it off, my friend's dad gave the most sweetest, heart wrenching speech that even made grown men cry...

I'm not having it announced.. I'm just going to have the dj play it and then ask my dad to dance with me and tell him that I always wished I had been able to dance with him when I got married and this song's for him.. so no one will know it's our "daddy/daughter" song but us.. which is where it gets hard.. cuz it can't bee directly about wedding days, but then I don't want it so generic it could be about anyone... but I do want other people to dance, but nothing too upbeat because my dad can't dance.. do you guys know of any songs with lyrics dedicated to the dad from the daughter? So a woman singing.. I know my husband will dance with my daughter- she's 3.. and we always listen to delilah and cry.. he is going to be so teary at her wedding... I do like "cinderella" but will other people dance too? I mean, I don't care if people figure it out and watch, I just don't want to announce it.. blah I'm listening to cinderella and literally bawling.. cuz I still am such a daddy's girl and he's like one of the first people I call about everything. I mean most people just get up and dance when they hear the beginnings of a slow song... or is that stupid?

My cousin & her father danced to 'I loved her first' and it was the same thing - not a dry eye!

My father and I will dance to Tim McGraw's 'My little girl'. He said the 1st time he ever heard this song he knew he would dance with me at my wedding to it :)

I danced with my dad to Butterfly Kisses by Bob Carlisle.  Alot of my guests got up and started dancing with us (even DH was dancing with his BM).  Pick a song that you like, people will dance.

i think you're putting way too much thought into this...

pick a song that has special meaning to you and ask your pops to dance - then while youre dancing, just re-iterate how much you love him and thank him for being an awesome dad... simple!

ditto cari - pick a song you like and just go for it...

p.s. im not trying to be rude or anything but your love for your dad and showing hm he is special should be an everyday event - not just for show for one day in front of people to make them cry...

umm yea OK I think that was rude.. I'm not "putting on a show" for anyone. I do tell my dad everyday.. I don't give if other people cry, I don't even want them to know the song has any significant meaning. But I do want a song to make me and him get teary eyed thinking back over all the years and the things he has taught me and how he's always put us first and just everything in life and how I can only hope to be as great to my children as he was to us. Because you CAN'T do that everyday. And I'm not trying to be rude either.. I think that just hit me the wrong way.. because it's so the opposite of what my goal is here..

the wedding itself is a show...  everyone's is as some point - why do you think we care so much about the perfect details?? anyway, w/e...

my posts are never meant to be rude - i just dont blow wedding smoke up anyone's asses - i'm a realist and am not apologetic about my opinions...it's somewhat cheeseball to pick a song to MAKE someone tear up - my point is you and your father are gonna tear up regardless b/c of the father-daughter bond and b/c of the love that you share, the memories, the growing pains, everything - it's family and it's unconditional love.  you could be dancing to the theme from starsky and hutch and it wouldnt matter...

and yes you can do it everyday... b/c you live it everyday - dont you think w/e youve learned from your dad - you are passing on to your kids??

anyway - have a great renewal... i'll refrain from posting on this thread further...
