I'm putting together my cousin's bridal shower and was looking for some game ideas. There's a lot of lame ones out there and I want to avoid those! And would you expect a prize or something for winning a game?

for the last shower i threw, i went to the dollar store and bought several scented candles. i wrapped them completely in foil (so they can't see the colors), poked a few holes through the top, added another decorative wrapper and threw a ribbon on there. made the guests guess the scents and the ones who got the most right got to divvy up the candles and take them home. simple, easy and everyone enjoyed it! make sure you throw in a couple of not-so-common ones - lots of xmas clearance now at places like Target and Bed/Bath/Beyond. you should be able to pick up some 'mistletoe' or stuff like that :)

HTH!

A friend of mine had her's in Vegas and they did a scavenger hunt all over the city. They had a list of stuff they had to do...get a doorman to kiss them, give a pair of underwear to a stranger, etc...it was a blast, and each group had to take pics to prove everything on the list.

What kind of theme are you having? If mine pass the lameness test, you can see the ones I made up for Margaret in my bio. I kinda made my own based on what I saw out there. And I just bought prizes because the other bridal showers I've been to they had prizes. You don't have to go all out though, just something simple like a picture frame or candle is cool.

I love the team up and make a dress on your model from TP and the bride picks the dress...lol but im big on cheese when it comes to games.also the pass the safty pin...everyone gets a saftypin and when ever someone catchs a person saying a picked word (like wedding) they get to take your saftypin whoever has the most pins at the end wins....and yes a prize is always fun, doesnt matter what it is

Bridal Shower Bingo can be fun... depends on what the words are, though :) And if you have time to plan it, you can do a "How Well Does the Bride Know the Groom?" kind of game-- you just need to interview the groom beforehand.

Um, famous TV couples for the trivia buffs. The TP Dress game.

Even though it's not a game, remember to save the ribbons + bows from the presents to use as a fake bouquet during the rehearsal.

I totally forgot about the TP dress thing!

Kristen, it's a citrus orange/pink theme. I'll check out the ones on your bio!

At my friend's shower my mom put together a game where everyone got points for having random items in their purse. Normal items were 1 or 2 points, obscure items were more points. (I won, BTW, by getting 25 points for having a small love note from DH in my wallet) Lipstick or a compact was 1 point, a condom or love letter was way more points.

Some of the items I remember were: hair brush, mirror, lotion, barette, safety pin, bobby pin, a key that doesn't open anyhting, a key ring with more than 5 keys on it, sewing kit, toothbrush, dental floss, alarm clock. We added some really oscure items just to see if there were any winners... one woman had a staple remover in her purse.

At my shower we played bridal shower mad libs that was a lot of fun.

Good luck!

Have you ever played Scattergories? I played a really cute baby shower version, but it could also be adapted for a bridal shower. Here are the rules: http://www.ehow.com/how_18711_play-scattergories.html

Coming up with bridal shower categories would be easy - at least for those of us who have planned or are planning a wedding! Dress designers, cake flavors, colors, flowers - the list goes on and on!

A hit game at my bridal shower was "Triva about the Bride" We had questions like:

Where did the Bride & Groom meet?
A. Jail
B. High School
C. Bar
D. Church

You can make it as funny or raunchy as you'd like depending on the guest of course :)
