I am trying to come up with favors that I can do myself. A friend of mine got married last month here are the ideas that she gave me.

1. A candle with a CD of R&B songs since we have known each other. (the cd would have 12 songs)

2. Since FH and I are "tea" drinker she also gave me the idea to do personalized mugs w/our monograms on them and tea.

FMIL thinks that I should do both ideas and put them in a gift bag. Since they are farely inexpensive ideas. What do you all think?

I like the tea idea and think that more people would enjoy the tea and mugs.  Also, mugs are things we use everyday, so people will remember your wedding often :)

Thanks. And I figure that people would actually keep the nugs. You know for coffe, tea.

I love the tea idea.  You could always use the mugs as your escort cards too.  It would be really unique if you could find out what it would cost to print your guests names on the mugs and they can use that to get to their tables.

I once gave my niece these mugs to decorate for her parents bc they are huge coffee drinkers... http://www.bedbathandbeyond.com/product.asp?order_num=-1&SKU=15968460 I wonder if you could find the company that made these kits and get a bunch wholesale to customize them per guest? You would just need to think of sophisticated ways to customize them! Maybe you could use some of those pretty/free (!) stencils they have on the martha stewart weddings website?

Another idea is to have all of them printed the same with your wedding date/names and then put a really nice tea bag in them and customize the tags on the tea bags with labels that say guests names and table numbers. Or wrap the mugs and put labels on the wrapping with the names/table numbers... there are so many ways to work this idea! Love it!!

FYI - www.vistaprint.com has inexpensive mug printing (and they always have sales, plus you can usually find coupon codes for them online)

Good luck!
