FIL's anniversary - suggestions

So my FIL's anniversary is the day before our wedding, the same day as our rehearsal dinner. I'm already doing a groom's cake for FI so having a cake to celebrate their anniversary is out. Anyone have any suggestions on how to acknowledge their anniversary/make it special at the rehearsal dinner? TIA! :)

Maybe before dinner, you can have a toast and acknowledge it then.

i like the toast idea during the reception. defenitely something i'd highlight. its so sweet and special that your anniversary will be a day after theirs. also at the rehersal dinner you can have a cute little cake just for them two?

I'm not doing an anniversary dance unfortunately. And I kind of want to acknowledge it at the rehearal dinner rather than the wedding since that would be their actual anniversary date. Cute idea for the personal cake, WM...but would two cakes be too much??

Definately propose a toast to them at the rehearsal dinner. Maybe arrange to have a special bottle of champagne where everyone in attendance signs it in a pretty gold pen. Or just you and your FI, "from one bride and groom to another."

If you can have any control over the music that will be playing at the rehearsal dinner, maybe arrange to have their 1st dance song playing when you make the toast.

I kinda think 2 cakes might be too much. I'd go with something more sentimental. Maybe a reframing of their wedding photo? (if it needs it)

I'll try to think of some more...

Are you giving them a gift? Can you present them with a gift - maybe a framed picture of them on their wedding day or something like that. And just say something about how their marriage has benefited the both of you....how their love has led to the love between you and FI....or something like that??

youre right. two cakes may be two much. i like betsy's idea about a framed photograph of them on their wedding day. and i like the special bottle of champagne for them two and a special toast. Ohh and maybe a Edible Arrangement? I was going to say flowers but Edible Arrangements are always a hit. I'm not doing well in the idea dept today. sorry!
