I'm so happy and exited that we finally booked our photographer. I cannot wait 'till we take our engagement photos. Any tips or recommendations that you ladies can give me for our engagement session??

I didn't take any engagement photos but there are so many brides on here that did so I will bump this to the top of the board for you! But from my experience with my wedding photographer, if there are any ideas or must have shots you want, PLEASE make sure you take them! Let your photographer know of poses you may like and not like. If you have any cute props you want in the pictures, make sure they are included. Above all relax and enjoy the session! Have fun!

Relax! It took us awhile to get comfortable with him and you can tell with the photos.

Wear something you'll be comfortable in!! :)

Here's an advice from a photographer: just be yourself and try to understand - the result depends on your relaxedness :) Enjoy the moment and live it for real.

Ditto Uhlease! Think about how you may be sitting and standing in various positions, which could affect what you wear.

Also, this is kind of random, but my DH and I (unintentionally) wore clothes in our wedding colors, and it ended up being really nice when we used our photos for anything wedding-related because it all looked coordinated.

E-pics are SO much fun, enjoy!!

Just relax and have a good time!! The best pictures we have are the ones where we are just being our normal goofy selves!

Thanks you all for your advice. I get really nervous just thinking about having pictures taken if me 'cuz I'm a lil plus sized ; P but the good thing is that I felt really comfterable with the photographer so I know it won't be all weird the day of.

I would suggest checking some photos as well and see what you like so that your photog has an idea as well to what you are looking for...if you want some fun poses, romantic, edgy ect..

Congrats! Make sure your FI wears dark socks...I didn't think to tell my husband this when we took anni pics recently and he wore white socks! When we were sitting on the ground his pants were a bit shorter and the socks really stuck out! I had to camoflage them in leaves lol.

Also, do some looking online and find some poses/shots you really love. Email them to your photgrapher ahead of time if you can, I did and she brought a really cute chair with her to do a few that I would not have thought of. At the very least print them out and bring them with you...I did that for my wedding and she used those as a reference the entire day to make sure she was getting everything I wanted.

Plan your outfits ahead of time. You don't have to have anything super fancy, sometimes simple jeans and a cute top are enough, but you want to look nice and not clash with FI.

It doesn't hurt to get your hair professionally done. I went to Cost Cutters for something cheap and easy and they did a super cute side-swept curly pontytail that didn't look like it had been professionally done and wasn't over the top for anni pics, but it was way nicer than anything I could have done!

Have fun!! Relax, enjoy being with each other. Talk with each other, laugh, touch each other's faces, arms, etc...a photographer will be able to capture all of that and it makes for some natural, beautiful pictures!
