I will try to keep this quick, but just wanted to update everyone with some info on my situation... Last Friday at work I started to have really bad side pain. I had been getting this on and off jab/stab throughout this whole thing leading up to
and throughout the m/c (more ovary level) and at work it seemed to suddenly get higher and worsen (like kidney level). It got so bad I had to leave work and go to Urgent Care. I had finally had enough of waiting to get into the dr. I went to urgent
care, they did an exam and even used the doppler (all of which they kept talking to me as if I may have still been pregnant which I knew I wasn't) so they confirmed all signs were pointing that I m/c'ed (which I already knew in my heart anyway).
Urgent care dr told me to follow up with u/s on Monday. He ordered bloodwork Friday as well. Monday I got the u/s done and while waiting, u/s tech told me the radiologist saw "something" on the u/s and wanted me to wait there for further directions...
Ultimately, ended up telling me to go straight to the ER bc they saw a mass and were worried it was either an ectopic pregnancy or cyst of some kind. (At this point they only had my levels from Fri which were in the 500s). I went to the ER and they
took more blood and confirmed my levels were dropping so they ruled out emergency surgery, but told me I'd def have to have a laparoscopy due to the apparent size of the cyst (7.5 cm, anything over 5 cm is considered abnormally large) and told me
to make an appt with ob/gyn, which I did for Wed. Wed I went to the ob/gyn FINALLY and she confirmed my levels had dropped between Fri and Wed. Now she wants to me to continue to have labs drawn to make sure levels do not increase to completely rule
out ectopic (I'm sure they won't), but she wants to just keep an eye on the cyst to see if it goes away on it's own to avoid surgery if we don't have to do it. I will have another appt with her in about 5 weeks and another u/s in 6 weeks to confirm
if it's shrinking or going away. If not, I will have to have the laparoscopy to figure out what it is and why it's still there. I'm happy to have finally been able to go to the dr, but I still basically have no answer as to why I have had 2 m/c in a
row now. She said there literally looks like there's nothing wrong with me, so she's not sure why this happened. Ugh. I know it's a step in the right direction, but still frustrating and scary to not have more answers. Of course, I swear EVERYONE
around me keeps popping up pregnant! A girl at work who has been with her bf literally a month just announced she's pregnant and 2 more friends today. It's ridiculous actually lol I just have to remember we will have our chance when God says we're
ready, but in the mean time it's been pretty rough going through all of this (I m/c'ed during my ob rotation in school) and so many people around me who are having surprise pregnancies. Anyway, sorry so long, but I wanted to share what I've learned so
far. :)
