Hello fellow PW peeps,  In the early proccess of planning our wedding it has been very very hard to decided what we would like for our wedding colors.  We have both agreed to have our wedding three years from now in the spring and considering that we are a man and woman of color, how do we choose a perfect wedding color for mutiple complexions and sbody sizes.  Should we find a place to have a reception and then decide on wedding colors?

That doesn't sound like a bad idea, then you can incorporate colors from the venue and you and FI 's favorite colors. By the way what are you and FI's favorite colors?

It's been my experience, and I've see this a lot here on PW, that the colors you choose should simply reflect your taste and style. You can make any color work for you, but it's nice of you to be mindful of body styles for your bridesmaids, since not everyone will be comfortable in every style.

But you should find what you like and don't worry about what season it is or anything else like that!

I kind of had an idea of what colors I wanted when we looked at venues but it definitely does help to see a venue and decide what colors would look good there. I knew I wanted something fun and vibrant but am keeping an open mind!

Hello dear!  I am a neutral, earth child, so it was not hard at all for me to choose colors. Mine were ivory and champagne. Totally Tressy, Totally my Taste and Style. Here are some pictures I found for inspiration for your blue and black theme wedding which you could totally pull off. The first pic is with Chocolate Brown, but you could easily change to black accents.

I think you should choose colors first! Think of your own personal style and what the two of you like! Most go with their favorite colors but you can choose even something that reflects something you both like. For instance if you have a favorite sports team...use their colors. We chose black and silver because those were two we could agree on and went along with the type of theme we wanted. However I then decided I needed a pop color and chose red.

Since you both like blue and black why not go with that? Choose a shade and roll with it. Heres some inspiration I found

Before I found my venue, I had decided on a woodland/forest theme and my colors would be greens and browns with jeweltone accents so I could throw in butterflies. Then I got my venue and it has more of a city park/courtyard feel to it. Now I'm rethinking the whole color scheme. I'd say you don't have to wait to have the venue, but if you have much of a theme and it affects the color scheme much, be open to change after you book the venue.
