Flights for honeymoon - how far ahead to book?

Hey girls!

I've been doing some honeymoon research and I just wondered - how far in advance is good to book for flights?  I know it's kind of a gamble, sometimes booking too far in advance is bad, but I don't want the cheap seats to sell out?

we booked about 6 months out.  we were really worried about the cost going up.

cheap or not - i like to buy mine as soon as i know i'm going somewhere - just for peace of mind...

we bought our hawaii tix in january for august...

Yeah, I was really surprised flights and prices are already posted!  D1rty - I think I'm kind of like you, I like to have everything settled... and yes, that'd be great!

I booked our honeymoon about 4 months out... and I got to pick where we sit on the plane which was nice.

We're limited since I have a free ticket on Southwest, their calendar doesn't come out for the date we need until August 21, so we'll be booking about 4 months out for the airline tickets. We would have done 6 months out of possible.
