I'm thinking of putting fresh flowers in my hair, any tips for attaching them without bruising the blooms? Thanks!

Im not sure how to attach them, but something to consider that my stylist told me, she said she prefers to use the silk (fake) flowers because the real ones tend to wilt and not look as nice. Just something to keep in mind.  :)

I know! I looked at silk but the silk gardenias just do not look the same, although the silk peonies are REALLY pretty, if only they were smaller. I love the silk orchids, I made a few of those into hair pieces and put them on etsy except we're not having a tropical wedding so it would look really strange. I was thinking about Camellias, Dahlias or Gardenias for my hair... but I'm not sure how to affix them!

silk orchids are also nice if you find ones that are good quality.. or what about a flower brooch?

I really like the quality of the silk flowers at www.latebloomers.com - I bought the cream moon orchids to wear with my dress, and am very pleased with them.  The silk gardenias there are also very realistic-looking and I think are pretty popular.  I ultimately decided against fresh flowers because I was worried they'd wilt in the heat of the summer.  Plus, having silk flowers is a nice keepsake from the wedding that can potentially be passed down to my daughter or future daughter-in-law.

JD~ the site did not work.

I am planning on wearing flowers in my hair also. I decided against real flowers. I have seen a lot of fake orchids that look real. Did you think about changing the flowers?

I wore a few fresh mokara orchids in my hair. My florist attached wires to the stems to make it easier for my hair stylist to attach them. They were burgundy, so I never noticed any wilting or bruising.

I think the key to avoiding bruising and wilting is to wait as long as possible before cutting them and removing them from water. Ideal would be to have them resting in water until the moment they go into your hair.

Darker colored flowers won't be obvious if they start to bruise as opposed to white or pastel flowers. Talk to your florist about having a wire and florist tape attached to the stem

Good luck!
