Call like your a planner and ask for these things and see who will do this... Vendors are always throwing in something free for the couple when I call and I do not even ask...

our friends got married last weekend and left for their honeymoon on monday. they'd not told the hotel that they were on their honeymoon so my FI emailed the general manager to let them know and when they arrived the room was decorated with rose petals and they were sent a nice bottle of complimentary champagne.

not sure how likely flight upgrades are..

maybe you shuld tell them it's your bday and maybe they'll sing happy bday and you can get a free dessert with dinner like they do at chevy's?? ;)

flight upgrade - unlikely

i mean really - it's special to US that we're married and all - but to the rest of the world, we're just another couple on their hm - and theyre concerned about making a profit since they are running a business kwim??

i dont agree. most people see newlywed couples as a business opportunity. you make them happy once, and they will continue to use you over and over. last year we went to cancun and told the hotel clerk we were on our money, they gave us one night free.. plus a fruit basket..

it never hurts to ask ladies.. the worst they can do is say no.

ok if that's what you think...  it's called capitalism and they'll bleed you if they can b/c they are playing on the "oooo it's your honeymoon" emotional strings... how do you think the wedding industry has blossomed into a billion dollar industry???  they play on your emo so that you part with your money...

i'm not impressed with a free fruit basket - acutally, i'm not impressed with anything free -  if you wanna get me as a customer for life - do NOT kiss my ass, do NOT fawn all over me, do NOT be fakey-nice customer service - give me my space, give me my privacy, be respectful, and be fair... do things efficiently, in a timely manner and i'm a customer for life...

i could give a rat's ass about free chocolates, etc...  i care about the big things - things that $$$ cannot buy - we can all buy our own fruit baskets, bottles of champagne, etc... but there is something to be said about actual service - free things are great - but you dont see me signing up at washington mutual just b/c they are giving away free ice cream scoopers kwim??
