I'm so excited!! Yesterday, FI and I cake tested at Lubeley's Bakery and Deli and LOVE IT! Pricing was not bad either. :)

If you don't mind me asking, how much for the cake? I am just across the river on the Illinois side and so far have found one baker whose icing I like, but the cake was dry and another baker who's cake was phenomenal, but the icing wasn't liked by anyone in my family. So, I am still looking - although I wonder how far a St. Louis baker would travel...

How far on the Illinois side are you?  If you're near Litchfield IL, I would contact Juebelt's bakery.  Their cakes taste great.  We use them for all my mom's family functions, as they're all over in that area.

I live in STL, and am doing everything over here.  I think I'm using http://www.weddingwonderlandcakes.com/menu.shtml because the pricing is good ($1.55 per seving), and the cake tasted great.  But I'm going to do a few more tastings, so I might change my mind.

I agree, it was between Lubeley's and Wedding Wonderland for us.  I will be using Wedding Wonderland for FI's surprise birthday cake.  I hoping they can do a Craps table.

I'm doing Encore bakery. She was a little more expensive right off hte bat, but she REALLY worked with our budget and hte cake was SO SO GOOD. 

thanks July -- i actually went to college near litchfield -- and i've heard nothing but good things about jubelt's -- but i'm not sure they'd travel to my wedding site --- great suggestion tho to anyone else near there...

I am using Lubeley's as well and LOVE them!  Carol is so great to work with and I've had their cake at several different weddings and its always good tasting and pretty!
