freaking out about a new review i read about my venue!!!!

WHAT DO I DO??

First, breathe.  This would freak me out as well, but you need to find out more information.  Is it possible to contact the person who made the review in order to get the whole story?  It looks like they have a profile so perhaps you can talk to them.  Feel them out.  Perhaps it is just an angry person blowing little things out of proportion.  Then you can approach the company.  They proabably won't give you your money back if you feel they are giving you the run around, but you definitely have enough time to find another option if you feel it is not worth the risk.  Definitely keep us informed.  I am so sorry about the stress.

thank you pink! oh man i wish i hadnt opened this while on vacation. :( i have contacted this person to see what happened. a girl on pw sent me this link and i'm just like shocked right now. she said she was on the hunt for a venue and ran across the review and shared it with me. omg!

i don't know what to do! i was actually supposed to send in my deposit last wednesday but for some reason my funds never transfered so i hadn't made the payment. do you think this happened for a reason? omg omg!

Well, at least you are not out money.  That is a huge relief.   I saw that there is a PW person who is getting married there next month.  I would definitely PM her about her experiences.  Get an honest answer from her about any and all problems she has had.  Since the review said that they didn't have problems until the last month, perhaps you can hold off on making a deposit until you hear about how it has been for her.  Remember, this review you read could just be one angry, over-the-top person that is exaggerating.  Since the deposit wasn't made and your wedding is almost a year away, you have all of the control right now.  You also have time to relax and enjoy your vacation.  Think of it this way - if the date is taken at Eagle's Nest when you come back - then you are supposed to find somewhere without the risk.  Your decision is made for you.  If not, then take the time to really look into this further before you make your deposit.

thanks pinkgerbers. you've really chilled me out. lol. i just researched them and they're part of the better business bureau and they have a very high rating. i hope thats a good thing! i will just try to not think about this until tuesday.

Pink is right... this is just one review.  Find out from other PW users if they have used the venue and their feedback.  And yes just be glad that you have not made a deposit... you still have time to look elsewhere

Good.  I am really glad that I helped.  I would definitely trust the BBB over one anonymous person's rant.  I definitely know that I have gone off the deep end before and realized later that I was reacting emotionally to service.  I have never posted it when I have gone off the deep end, but to each their own. lol!

Seriously, talk to the other PWer when you get back.  You are losing nothing in the meantime, so have fun on your vacation!!!
