Freezing Bell Peppers ???

Is it possible to freeze raw bell peppers?  I'm thinking of dicing them, then tossing them in a freezer bag to freeze.  Thoughts?

I'm trying to see if it's true that with good meal planning and less trips to the grocery store money can be saved.  I know I won't use the peppers for about a week.  I won't eat the peppers raw - they'd be cooked for breakfast burritos and fajitas.

I used to do that, they were never as crunchy but if they're going in fajitas etc they should be fine

Ditto canooknic: they'll be soft, but if they're going in stews or burritos, should be perfect.

Athena - I'd blanch them first, but you should be able to store them for up to 8-12 months if properly stored at 0 degrees F.

according to the govt website, the recommended blanching time of bell peppers is:

Halves - 3 minutes (no more no less)

Strips or Rings - 2 minutes (no more no less)
