DH and I received one of those vacuum sealing things for our wedding.  We're excited to get to start freezing things even better than before.  Anyone has items that they know freeze really well and others not so much?  Anyone have one of those vacuum sealers and know what works best? TIA!!

I just freeze in good ol' Tupperware, or even foil, etc.  For our needs and how long we freeze things that works perfectly.  I've never tried a vacuum sealer!  What kinds of things do you plan on freezing?

I know we'll do a lot of meat that way.  DH hunts so he's all excited to process his deer this year.  (Not in my kitchen though, haha he can go to his parents for that.)  Are fruits or veggies ok to freeze?

I don't see why not.
I mean, you can buy frozen fruit and veggies at the grocery store :)

I think that will be a great little tool to use to freeze meat!

I know my dad has frozen fruit (strawberries/blueberries/peaches) in Ziplock bags before and they've been fine. Same with sliced peppers from his garden this year. It's definitely worth trying on fruits & veggies!

You can't freeze celery because of the high water content but most others you can.  In fact, I buy most of my veggies frozen b/c it's cheaper and usually has high nutritional value.  I don't eat any type of melon but I would think the same goes for that b/c of the water content.
